Custom WebSphere property for separate profiles in the Same Server – Problem Resolution Procedures and Installing DB2 11.5.7

11.1.1.3 Custom WebSphere property for separate profiles in the Same Server
The following configuration must only be followed after the install of the Content Engine Client version 5.5.10. A custom property has to be added necessarily if two separate profiles are used on the same physical WebSphere Server, see:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/content-navigator/3.0.13?topic=pwascnc-configuring-separate-websphere-application-server-instances-that-run-same-computer
If Content Engine or Content Platform Engine and IBM Content Navigator are to be run on the same server, that is, in separate WebSphere Application Server profile instances on the same physical server. You must add a custom Java property to both WebSphere Application Server instances.
To configure separate WebSphere Application Server instances that run on the same physical server, follow the given steps:

  1. Open the web administrative console of the WebSphere Application Server for the server profiles for Content Engine or Content Platform Engine (AppSrv01) is deployed.
  2. Expand the Application servers and click the server’s name (server1) on which Content Engine or Content Platform Engine runs. (The default server name is server1).
  3. Expand Java and process management and click Process definition | Java virtual machine | Custom properties, as shown, highlighted, in Figure 11.12.
  4. Click New.
  5. Enter the name com.ibm.websphere.orb.uniqueServerName and set the value to true.
  6. Save the setting and restart the IBM WebSphere application server.
  7. Content Engine (AppSrv01) setting page is as follows in Figure 11.13:

Figure 11.13: Enter the name com.ibm.websphere.orb.uniqueServerName and set the value to true
The entire procedure (steps 1 to 6) is now repeated for the IBM WebSphere Application Server on which IBM Content Navigator is to be deployed (with the profile AppSrv02).

11.1.1.4 Unticking the Java 2 security for both profiles (AppSrv01 and AppSrv02)
The Java 2 Security must be unticked in both profiles for the logins for IBM FileNet P8 acce web application and the IBM Content Navigator web application, as highlighted in Figure 10.126 of Chapter 10: Installing WebSphere 9.0.5.14.
